Charlottesville, Virginia resident, William Coleman III rode to the top of the leaderboard in the CCI2* this afternoon on the 8 year old Irish Sport Horse gelding TKS Cooley (Tommy) to a penalty score of 31.70. “He’s got miles to go” and “I am really excited because I think it’s a great horse” said William of Tommy.

It should be noted that William is just back from a very successful 5th place at the Tattersalls CCI3* in Ratoath, Co. Meath, Ireland riding OBOS O’Reilly.

The CCI1* dressage which also ran today in the second ring was lead by 24 year old Arden Wildasin (USA) riding Watch Out (Walter) with a penalty score of 26.80. Speaking about Walter and their ride today, Arden said “I couldn’t be more happy” and he is a horse that always tries, always loves to perform”.

Arden who resides in Aiken, South Carolina is riding three horses this weekend, all of them chestnuts.

The day of competition wraps up with a rider reception generously hosted by MARS Incorporated at the VIP tent on the edge of the main jumping ring.

Dressage competition resumes on Friday morning at 10:30am with the CIC2* in ring 2 and the CCI3* in ring 1.

Bromont CCI, which has featured top competition for three decades, will be welcoming some of the best horse-and-rider combinations from all over North America in CCI1*, CCI2*, CIC2* and CCI3* divisions. Bromont stands alone as the only venue in Canada which offers a CCI3*-level competition.

The Bromont Olympic Equestrian Park, which hosted the equestrian events of the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games, has in recent years undergone massive upgrades and is considered one of the best in North America.

The MARS Incorporated Bromont CCI Three Day Event is proud to host The Todd Sandler Challenge in memory of an aspiring young event rider, Todd Sandler, who died tragically in a car accident while returning home from grooming and lending a helping hand to fellow Canadians at the 1999 Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event.
